Official: Athletic Santander signs Leverkusen midfielder Puelta, signs for four years

Hupu September 2nd News Santander Athletic Club officially announced that the team signed 22-year-old Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta from Leverkusen.
Puerta was preparing to join Hull City in the summer window, but because Hull City received a transfer ban, he returned to Leverkusen and left the team to join Santander Athletics on the deadline.

Santand Athletic Club and Leverkusen have reached an agreement on the transfer of Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta, and the player has signed with the club until June 30, 2029. Puerta has played for the Colombia U20 national team and made 30 appearances for Hull City in the English Champions League last season.

Gustavo Adolfo Puerta Molano was born on July 23, 2003 in La Victoria, Valais del Cauca Province, Colombia. He started his career since the FC team of Bococa. After playing 30 times, he transferred to Leverkusen in 2023. The defensive midfielder has won the Bundesliga title (7 appearances) and the German Cup with Leverkusen, and has participated in three Europa League games.
Puerta is 1.74 meters tall and weighs 70 kg. He made 30 appearances in Hull City, England last season, and has made 33 appearances for the Colombia U20 national team and has been selected for the Colombia adult national team four times.
