Chengdu "Little Green Pepper" will move from the arena to daily life

This newspaper (China Youth Daily·China Youth Network reporter Wang Xinxin) On September 29, "Little Green Pepper" set out again - the theme activity of fulfilling the mission and responsibility of young volunteers in the new era was held in Chengdu, Sichuan. The event organizer announced that after completing a series of major competition services such as the 31st World College Student Summer Games, Chengdu’s “Little Green Pepper” volunteers will usher in a new mission.

In 2021, in order to welcome the Chengdu Universiade, Chengdu publicly solicited and determined the image logo and nickname of the Universiade volunteers. After the Chengdu Universiade, the "Little Green Pepper" volunteers participated in volunteer services for major competitions and other events such as the World Horticultural Exposition and the World Games.

This theme event is co-organized by the Chengdu Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Human Resources Department (Volunteer Department) of the Chengdu World Games Executive Committee, etc. During the event, volunteers took the stage to review their service stories. Among them are guides who hold signs with both hands and keep them motionless for half an hour, there are volunteers who often take the cover of "WeChat Sports" to protect the scene, and there are flag bearers who practice raising flags to form muscle memory.

While preparing for the World Games, Hu Ke, the "Little Green Pepper" from Sichuan University, was so tired that he cried secretly in the middle of the night. But on the opening day, when she guided the Chinese delegation to the venue and the melody of "Jasmine" sounded, she felt that "everything was worth it."

As a volunteer manager of the venue, Wang Yijie, executive deputy director of the Chengdu Roller Skating Stadium Center of the Xindu Division of the Chengdu World Games, witnessed the growth of "Little Green Pepper" in the event. "It is these young people who shine in ordinary positions that have allowed athletes, guests and audiences from various countries and regions to see Chengdu's enthusiasm and added a bright touch to Chengdu." On the day of the event, the organizers held a symposium on promoting the transformation of volunteer service results of the event, and experts and scholars shared relevant experiences, exchanged results, and discussed forwards.

At the end of the theme event, nine representatives of "Little Green Pepper" issued an initiative of "re-starting": from the competition venue to the streets, from the venue to daily life, in the future, "Little Green Pepper" will enter more scenarios such as rural revitalization, green development, social services, emergency safety, cultural and tourism services, and use actions to practice the spirit of volunteerism and show the youth style.
