Hupu October 1st News Recently, former Manchester United player Hargreaves came to the Carrington base as a TNT host and interviewed Manchester United coach Amorin.
About my system
staying with my team, the situation is always unpredictable, and everything is constantly evolving and changing. We will adjust the tactical system, which is what I am currently doing. I'm just trying to lead the team with the football philosophy I understand. How is the training situation of the
club?
is very good. But sometimes you think the training is very effective, but the players' performance the next day may be completely opposite. It mainly depends on whether they are well prepared, whether they are fully focused on set pieces tactics, and whether they show enough aggressiveness when we practice defense. This is the most critical for me, after all, the situation of the game the next day is often very different. I just want to confirm whether the players are ready and whether they have paid attention to every detail.
There is a lot of controversy about the three-guard formation you insist on using. Where did your inspiration come from?
The 4-4-2 formation I used at the beginning, and I made changes because usually all teams will use a three-back formation and push the full-back forward, but we encountered a lot of difficulties when using four-backs to cover all space.
I started thinking about what we could do - it was interesting for me, and then I started practicing the system, and the interesting part was trying to adapt the way you look at football to each system of your opponent.
As the head coach, sometimes you carefully formulate a perfect plan, but when you really get on the court, you can't predict the result. The most interesting thing is that you have to let the whole team understand that the focus is not on the results of the game, but on the advance insight into the trend of the game. We have to control the situation of the game, and some situations will definitely happen. Maybe we will lose the game because of an offensive and defensive transition or set-piece, but the game progress will be based on our presets.
When you are with the team, are you always full of uncertainty?
Yes, there is indeed this sense of uncertainty. As long as the team maintains cohesion, we can survive even if we do not perform well. But if this connection is lost, the result will be hard to say.
In the age of a player, have you always been determined to become a coach?
My love for the game has never changed. When I was a young player, I didn’t like those purely entertainment games. I prefer tactical training. Yes, competitive confrontation has always been the most enjoyable part of my training. Even in my childhood, it was not my style to play aimlessly. I was more keen on confrontation or tactical drills in small venues.
After officially retiring at the age of 31, I was also troubled by injuries. In fact, since I was 27 years old, I have been determined to become the head coach. You know, it takes a long struggle to be able to come to a giant club like Manchester United to take charge of the coaching staff.
After you made brilliant achievements in Portugal Sports, you chose Manchester United. So how do you evaluate your first year of coaching?
Everyone knows that this is indeed very difficult. The Premier League is completely different from other leagues, and is a completely different world. When I was a player, I had played against England teams seven or eight times in the Champions League, Europa League, and England, but it was a completely different experience to really coach here.
I think we struggled for a long time last year. We need to score goals, but sometimes the problem is not just the goal, the players can help in various situations, they have the physical qualities to implement oppression, which will make the game completely different.
About Manchester United now, it seems that there are only leading players like B Fee or Maguire
We do have many players who have played for many years, but the team is still struggling. This question has been circling in my mind. It's not just a leader's problem, we need leaders, but sometimes I feel that what I lack in the team is those "crazy guys".
I think Cunia has this kind of trait: he is a good person, but no matter who you are, he is not ambiguous at all during the game. No matter where he plays, he will drive the ball forward bravely. We need this temperament.
Maguire has been the captain and played in the national team, but you can feel that when things are not going well, whether it is experienced Bruno or other players, we will still fall into a downturn. The past is history, and we must face the future.
Sometimes you watch the situation on the court gets worse and worse, but you can see Mbermo shine differently because he comes from a different environment; you can feel his frustration when observing Cunia, but this frustration conveys the responsibility of "giving the ball to me". We are lacking this spirit.
What are the goals of this season?
We must return to the European arena. But interestingly, this may be a bit difficult for fans to understand and I can't predict what the future will be. But my intuition tells me: we will play better. All the data indicators and game scenes make me believe we can win.
