Tebas: The 100-point winning of the championship in the Royal Saint-Sports shows that La Liga is not competitive. The European Super League is essentially an elite oligopolistic

May 13th La Liga President Tebas said that the two major challenges facing professional football and sports are the threat of the Super League and the piracy issue.

Tebas called the European Super League "elite and oligopolistic", and pointed out that if the Super League is implemented in Spain, it will lead to a decrease of revenue of 1.6 billion euros, or 32%. Tebas also questioned the transparency of the Premier League, which was led by Real Madrid Club President Florentino, proposed three different competition systems in three years, and has been called "unification" for the most recent time from April 2021 to the present. He believes this shows the unseriousness of the Super League program. In his opinion, events like the Super League coexist with domestic leagues will make the latter lose competitiveness.

Tebass: "There are always big clubs, but be careful because it will reduce the competitiveness of your game. I'm not too worried that Real Madrid or Barcelona will always win, and sometimes Atletico, I'm more concerned about them winning with less than 90 points, which means the league is very competitive. It's important to have uncertainty, not win by 100 points, as Manchester City once did, or Real Madrid during Mourinho's era."

Tebass mentioned that the European Court of Justice's decision on the Super League did not support this project, nor condemn the monopoly of UEFA and FIFA, but asked them to set clear and transparent rules. He also stressed that 26 EU countries except Spain have passed a resolution discussing how the European sports model should develop. No European League supports this form. He noted that ACB Basketball League’s audio-visual copyright revenue has been stagnant since 2003, while football has increased fivefold. In addition, he denied the claim that young people no longer watch football, believing that this is just someone's point of view and not a fact.
