CIES rated the most influential central defenders of the season: Van Dijk, Joan Améni, Saliba s top three

June 28th Football Statistics Agency CIES selected the most influential players in each position this season from 60 leagues around the world, with Van Dijk ranked first in the central defender position.

The ranking index is based on the player's performance in six areas of the game: aerial ball, defense, passing, outspread, creating opportunities, and finishing ability.
