Coutinho is in a stalemate in the future, Villa s tough stance is suspected

9:16am, 1 July 2025Football

Last summer, Aston Villa loaned Felipe Coutinho to Brazil's Vascoda Gama Club, and the loan contract will officially expire next Monday. The attacking midfielder has clearly expressed his desire to stay in Brazil after the contract expires this month. Vascoda Gama CEO Carlos Amodio has also confirmed that they are negotiating with the player's agent.

On June 15, Vascoda Gama coach Fernando Dinis said he was confident that the Aston Viagra player would return to the team. The 33-year-old Brazilian star has the last year left on his contract with Villa Park. Therefore, the Brazilian club has been hoping to convince him to terminate the contract with Villa so that they can sign him permanently in the form of free agents.

Four days ago, Brazilian media Terra reported that Vascoda Gama will turn to seek a new loan agreement that will last until the end of this year because Aston Villa refuses to terminate Coutinho's contract. On Thursday, we reported news from Brazil that Villa, led by sports director Monci, has refused to give in during the negotiations.

The O Dia newspaper published this Saturday again pointed out that if Aston Villa refuses to release him directly, the South American club will seek to extend his loan contract.

Although the latest news shows that Aston Villa is unwilling to terminate Coutinho's contract, Vascoda Gama's board of directors believes that the "Villas" will not set too many obstacles in this matter in the end.

The report clearly states that "there is no update on the situation with Aston Villa at present."

Vascoda Gama is very optimistic about reaching a new agreement with Coutinho, and Aston Villa’s so-called “hard stance” does not seem to worry them.
