22-year-old Cuabano has played four games for Botafogo in the club World Cup this summer. He has played an important role in Botafogo in recent seasons, and has made 60 appearances in various competitions since joining from Gremio in 2024.

Cuabano made his debut in the Brazilian top league in May 2023 and won the 2024 Brazilian League and the South American Liberators Cup with Botafogo, playing side by side with Igor Jesus and John Victor who joined the same period.

As a left-wing all-rounder, he mainly plays as the left-back position in the four-back system in Brazil, and is also an important part of the team's offense. In the past, he scored 7 goals and contributed 6 assists to Bottafogo. Ross Wilson, the club’s chief football officer, said: “This summer we are committed to ensuring that every position has quality and depth, while also tapping potential young players from all over the world. Cuabano is such an exciting player. At the age of 22, he has accumulated rich experience and we are full of expectations for his future development.”
