Curry spoke for the first time after his injury: The injury was caught off guard and made me emotionally collapse. I won t come back in a hurry

On May 9, the Warriors conducted shooting training before the G2 game. Curry was interviewed by the media. This was his first time speaking out after a hamstring injury. Curry said the injury this time was "like a bolt from the blue."

"We worked hard in the last two months of the season and struggled to survive the tiebreak in the first round," Curry said. "From the team and my personal performance, I felt in good shape in the first half of the game, and everything was developing in a good direction. As a result, the sudden injury caught people off guard. At the beginning, I really broke down."

Due to injury, Curry has been confirmed to miss the next three games of the series. Although the 37-year-old star has not made a comeback date, he said it seems that the comeback (G5) next Thursday may be too optimistic. Previously, several reporters mentioned that the sixth game will be held three days after Game 5, and if the game goes to that stage, it may be a more realistic comeback date.

"This is the first time I have encountered this situation in my career. Judging from the recovery situation I have learned, it takes a process to recover from injuries," Curry said. "You can't be too hasty, haste will not be achieved. So, in the next week, I will evaluate the recovery situation every day. Only when safety is ensured, will I consider making a comeback, let alone how many successful things can I play after the comeback."

Someone asked Curry if the team was in trouble during his absence, would he not help but come back early. "I will definitely face such a choice in the end," Curry responded, "but I haven't reached that point yet. I won't come back hastily because my body needs natural recovery. Even if I can complete regular basketball movements and have no pain, my body will give real feedback. I know the repetition of hamstring injuries. Sometimes even if I don't feel pain, there may be hidden dangers. This vague area is indeed easy to cause misjudgment, but I will do my best to try to recover as soon as possible."

Although Curry was injured in a hamstring strain at a critical moment when he was struck by another championship in the later stage of his career, Curry was obviously extremely disappointed, but he was also glad that his injury was not serious. Curry also said that the Warriors' confidence doubled after winning the first game, and even without the 11-time All-Star player, the team can perform well.

"The locker room atmosphere is great, and everyone is trying to take responsibility," Curry said. "We firmly believe that we can win the series, and no matter what the situation is, our teammates will stand up. We must maintain a positive and optimistic attitude, believe that the team can win the game and buy me more recovery time. I hope we can advance to the next round smoothly, and then I can also come back safely with full body recovery to avoid the additional risks to the body due to a hasty comeback." Curry said that he is currently "a distance away" from training in the spot jump shot, and said that the current recovery process is "a difficult task." He revealed that before the injury in the second quarter of the first game, there was no warning signal on his body. At that time, people were seen grabbing his left leg and signaling a substitution to the bench, but he persisted for 29 seconds and didn't get out until the game was suspended.

"Before the injury, I felt good throughout the game," Curry recalled. "Later, I made a turn move on the defensive end, and suddenly I felt something was wrong, but I didn't care too much, thinking that I could continue the game after the event. But the soft tissue injury should not be underestimated. If I force my return, it may cause more serious damage. Obviously, this is a big blow, but I hope I can return soon."

Curry also said that since he had never suffered a hamstring strain before, he was not sure what standard he had reached to be considered as recovering.

"If it's ankle or other old injury, I can probably estimate the time of my comeback," Curry said. "But this time I have no idea, so I don't want to set a deadline for myself. I just hope that every day will feel better than the day before. I will work closely with Cellebrini (Vice President of Players Health and Performance at Warriors) and use his expertise to do everything possible to get me back to the arena as soon as possible. That's our goal. When the day of my comeback is really coming, all questions will naturally have answers."
