After spending nine years in Old Trafford, youth training director Nick Cox will take an important position in Everton and become the core figure in his management reform.
Manchester United Club officially confirmed that its meritorious youth training director Nick Cox will leave office and transfer to Premier League opponent Everton. In an official statement, Manchester United gave a high praise to the hero behind the club who has worked hard for nine years.
Cox's Manchester United career began in 2015. He joined from Sheffield United, initially served as the youth training camp operations manager, and in 2019, he was promoted to director of the entire youth training academy for his outstanding work performance. During his tenure, Manchester United's youth training has achieved fruitful results, with nearly 36 young players from Carrington completing their first team debut.
Now, he will cross Merseyside, head to Everton to take up his new position as the key position of Technical Director of the Blues. His core mission will be to comprehensively improve the standards of the Everton Finch Farm Training Base, and its jurisdiction will cover the club's medical care, daily operations, player care and a crucial youth training system.
Everton officially announced its newly formed leadership team this Friday night, and Cox's appointment is the top priority. Joining him are also the new scout and recruitment director James Smith, director of football strategy and analysis Chris Howworth, and Nick Hammond, who is in charge of player trade negotiations.
The four new players will form a new core management team with head coach David Moyes, new CEO Angus Kinneal and women's football coach Brian Sorenson, and are committed to fundamentally reshaping the club's operating model in order to make substantial progress both on and off the court.
Cox joined Everton with his great reputation in the field of youth training. While expressing his reluctance to let go of his departure, Manchester United also gave the most sincere praise and blessings.
Manchester United football director Jason Wilcox said in a statement: "In the past nine years, the Nick has made an indelible and great contribution to Manchester United. In fact, before I came to the club, I had heard of his outstanding abilities, and during my work, we had a very pleasant cooperation."
"Digging and cultivating the top young geniuses has always been the top priority of our club's work. We sincerely thank Nick for laying an extremely solid foundation for us so that we can continue to move forward on this. We wish him all the best in the new chapter of his career and a new glory."
