Laporta: De Jong s contract renewal negotiations are going well, I hope De Jong can play in Barcelona for many years

June 27th, Barcelona Chairman Laporta shook hands with former coach Koeman while participating in a charity golf event and accepted media interviews on multiple topics.

One of the focus is on the renewal of Dutch midfielder De Jong. De Jong's contract will expire in 2026. Laporta said: "The negotiations are going well. We hope De Jong can play here for many years. He is an important member of the team."

Koeman also expressed his support for De Jong's staying: "I hope he will stay here. I know he is very happy in Barcelona and I also hope to stay. I don't think there will be any problem."
