Starting in double-quantity! Booker will serve as the starting point guard in the new season, and the Suns have only one pure point guard in the team!

According to US media NBACentral social media, Devin Booker will serve as the Suns point guard next season.

Previously, the Suns successfully traded Jaylen Green and Dillon Brooks in the seventh team's big trade, with the 10th pick in the first round of 2025 (Maruach) and multiple second round picks.

As of now, there are 9 people in the Suns who have a guarantee contract, and the only player who is purely point guard is Colin Gillespie.

Colin Gillespie, 191cm tall, age: 26 years old, played 33 regular season games for the Suns last season, averaging 14.0 minutes per game, and can contribute 5.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.2 blocks, and 0.5 turnovers. His shooting percentage: 43.0%, three-point shooting percentage: 43.3%, free throw shooting percentage :86.4%

Gillespie is actually a double-superior style of play, but Gillespie's organizational ability and overall view are probably the best for the Suns at the moment, but Booker and Jaylen Green are definitely going to start. The Suns' management will definitely not allow Gillespie to play the starting No. 1 position and push Booker to the No. 3 position, so the Suns' management can only Booker serve as the team's starting No. 1 position in the new season.

Because Jaylen Green and Devin Booker both play in the No. 2 position, but before Paul joined, the Suns asked him to try to play in the No. 1 position of the team many times, but unfortunately the results were not very good.

1. In the 2017-2018 season, Booker averaged 4.7 assists and 3.6 turnovers per game.

2. In the 2018-2019 season, Booker averaged 6.8 assists and 4.1 turnovers per game.

3. In the 2018-2019 season, Booker averaged 6.5 assists and 3.8 turnovers per game.

The real top point guards are like Doncic and Halliburton. Booker's assist-turnover ratio averaged 7.1 assists and 2.9 turnovers per game last season can only prove that he is a mid-to-high point guard. He lacks the sudden appearance of inspiration like Paul and Nash, who is the real natural commander. Booker essentially uses his personal offense to blast his opponent and waits for an opportunity to pass the ball to his teammates. Once the personal offense cannot be opened, he will be inaccurate. The overall overall view and control level determine that he can only maintain a middle-to-high level as a point guard.

If Booker could really transform into a point guard, he would have been successful in the three seasons before Paul joined. What Booker is strong is his scoring ability. He can not only score independently, but also run without the ball and shoot when the ball is taken. To be honest, let Booker play No. 1 position for a long time, which is a bit of a "self-destructive martial arts".
