Joining forces with Harden again? 40-year-old Paul is expected to return to the Clippers: Impressed that he doesn t want to stay away from his family

On June 6, according to US media TheDraftStack, sources revealed that the Clippers and Paul are expected to be interested in reunion. Paul, 40, will enter the free agent market, while the Clippers are looking for a backup point guard, so Paul becomes an attractive option. Previously, it was reported that Harden planned to break out of his contract and renew his new contract with the Clippers. If Paul returns to the Clippers, it means that he will become teammates with Harden again. The two have worked together for a while in the Rockets.

When visiting The Pat McAfee Show today, Paul himself talked about his upcoming free agent status. The veteran hinted that he was eager to continue playing and that family would be the key factor in his decision to go.
"I still love basketball and train in the arena every day... My decision is more for my family. I have talked about it with my family. My son is 16 and my daughter is 12. I haven't been able to live with them for the past six seasons, and I have been separated from them for the past six years. That's the core of our discussion." Paul said.

US media said that judging from the location of Paul's family living (Los Angeles), he seemed to be hinting at the possibility of returning to the West Coast. This means he might consider the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Phoenix Suns, and even the Portland Trail Blazers.
No matter which team Paul eventually joins, his performance has proved that he can still contribute to the team at the age of 40. Last season, Paul played for the Spurs, with 82 regular season games, averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game, with a three-point shooting percentage of 37.7%.

As a veteran, Paul can bring experience bonus to any team, and he is still pursuing the NBA championship ring that seems out of reach. Although multiple teams meet his needs, this time, geographical location seems to be his top priority.
