Real Madrid official: Oppose Barcelona and Huang Qian matches are held overseas, and related actions have been taken

Hupu, August 12th, Real Madrid officially issued a statement opposing the La Liga between Barcelona and Villarreal being held overseas.

Real Madrid Football Club hopes to express its strongest opposition to its members, supporters and football enthusiasts about the proposal to hold the 17th round of La Liga Villarreal against Barcelona outside Spain.

This measure was promoted without prior notification or consultation on participating clubs, violated the principle of regional reciprocity (one home and one away) followed by the home and away double round-robin league, undermined the competitive balance, and gave the applicant club an improper competitive advantage. The integrity of the

event requires that all competitions be played under the same conditions for all teams. Unilaterally changing this system has broken equality among competitors, damaged the legitimacy of the game results, and set an unacceptable precedent, opened the door to exceptions based on non-pure sports interests, significantly affected sports fairness, and there is a risk that the event will be "tampered with". If the proposal is implemented, the consequences will be very serious and can be regarded as a watershed in the football world.

Any modification of such nature must be carried out with the express and unanimous agreement of all participating clubs, while strictly complying with the domestic and international rules governing the official event organization.

In order to defend this principle, Real Madrid has taken three specific actions:

has applied to FIFA that, as the guarantee of international football rules, should not approve the hosting of the competition without the prior consent of all participating clubs.

applies to UEFA, as a guarantee of European tournament integrity and consistency with FIFA rules, the Spanish Football Association should urge the Spanish Football Association to withdraw or reject the application and reiterate the criteria it established in 2018 that it shall not be held for official domestic tournaments outside its territory unless there are special circumstances with just and well-reasonable reasons, and this case does not meet such circumstances.

Apply to the Supreme Sports Council of Spain and the required administrative license shall not be granted without unanimous consent.

Real Madrid reiterates its commitment to respect domestic and foreign rules that guarantee fairness and the proper functioning of official events and will defend their implementation before all competent authorities.
