Premier League | Newcastle United is preparing to replace the club logo that has been used for 37 years

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United will replace its 37-year-old jersey badge, a move that has caused disagreement among fans. The club hopes their badges will be more market-worthy and globally recognized, and the redesigned badges will be used starting in the 2026/27 season.

Newcastle United will next have a week-long consultation period for season ticket holders and members, and then provide fans with voting options. The club statement is as follows:

"As our club develops on the global stage, the logo that represents us also needs to keep pace with the times. It needs to appear clearly and confidently on everything - from jerseys to screens to peripherals."

So, we have been asking ourselves: to what extent does our current team logo represent the club today? How much role will it play tomorrow? Now it's time to update our team badge.

We are not making this decision in a blatant way. We love our team logo, which symbolizes our past and has accompanied us through unforgettable victory and difficult moments.

But it was born in different eras. Its complex designs are not always well communicated in today's digital world. And it is difficult to reproduce it clearly and consistently. As football and the world change, the signs that unite us must also change.

This is not to abandon our past, but to pass on it proudly. Badges are part of our story. It is printed on our jerseys and on our skin. It deserves our thoughtful evolution—shapedged by the voices of people who love it.

Some fans are open to the move, but supporter Rachel Taylor wrote: "Don't move that badge. It symbolizes our club and our city. It's not broken, so don't try to fix it."
