Neuer may even renew his contract until 28 years; Bayern is preparing to sell Nobel to the Premier League for 25 million

Hupu reported on October 21 that Tobi Altschäffl, deputy editor-in-chief of German media Bild, updated Neuer’s future.

The goalkeeper is currently enjoying the joy of not having any physical discomfort since tearing his calf muscle in March this year. He has been under huge pressure over the years and now he can use the international break to train and recover at the same time.

Recently, he vacationed in Croatia with former Schalke teammates Ivan Rakitic (37 years old), Gerard Asamoah (47 years old) and long-time goalkeeper coach Toni Tapalovic (45 years old).

These breaks are good for his body and ensure Neuer's return to world-class level. He showed that in Saturday's 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund, as he remained as sharp as ever despite not making any spectacular saves.

Bayern management will always take Neuer's career plan into consideration when planning goalkeepers. However, the management has not set a deadline: Neuer, like the club, is fully conceivable to renew his contract again.

What Bild can reveal is that the plan of both parties is to wait until the end of the year to think about it.

If Neuer remains in top form and has no injuries, he is likely to sign a new one-year contract in early 2026. That would provide Bayern with security at goalkeeper - and time.

Finding a successor to the five-time best goalkeeper in the world will be a difficult task, and they are already dealing with this challenge at the same time: Jonas Urbig (22 years old) serves as the second goalkeeper, and Daniel Peretz (25 years old) and Alexander Nubel (29 years old) are both on loan.

Things are not going well for Peretz at Hamburg; he is only the second-choice goalkeeper. Termination of the lease is already under discussion.

For Nubel, Neuer's contract extension will send a clear signal: it means that his ambitions can only be abandoned, and Nubel will only be able to return after Neuer leaves.

It is said that Bayern internally believes that if Neuer renews his contract again, Nübel will have to be sold. After all, it's even possible that Neuer will stay for one more year, serving as goalkeeper until 2028.

The fact is: Bayern is currently paying a high fee for Nübel’s loan to Stuttgart, and they are expected to have already shouldered two-thirds of Nübel’s estimated salary of 11 million euros.

If Neuer continues to play for Bayern, all this should be over: Nubel may leave at a price of 20 million to 25 million euros - which is too high for Stuttgart, but for a mid-tier Premier League club, this is completely conceivable.
