November 12th: Former Rayo Vallecano player Mario Suarez responded to the remarks of Rayo Vallecano chairman Martin Presa.
Suarez criticized Rayo Vallecano's current situation last week and made the comments after the match against Polish side Lech Poznan. A day later, club president Martin Presa responded that Suarez's comments were fueled by resentment over his departure from Rayo Vallecano.
Presa said: "This attitude stems from resentment. If I had listened to him, I would have fired Andoni Illara (former Rayo Vallecano coach) in the first year."
In response, Suarez retorted in an interview: "I am just stating the facts and The truth. I am aboveboard and have no personal grudges with Martin Presa. If these words come from a reputable person, it would be serious."
Regarding the matter mentioned by Presa, Suarez said: "I received some information from my teammates at the time. "It's very courageous that you always defended Iola in difficult situations in the locker room." Presa called several players and asked if he was going to fire Iola. One teammate told him, "We won't do that."
"Of course I want to do that with Valleca." No, I don't have any resentment at all, only gratitude. The president has my contact information and he can send me a message at any time if he wants to talk, but he didn't reply."
