In an interview with Goal.com on October 24, Cristiano Ronaldo’s former teammate Danny Simpson, who came from Manchester United’s youth training, said that he believed Cristiano Ronaldo had at least two major goals to support him in continuing his career.
Simpson said: "I don't think you can deny him playing into his 40s, and as long as he scores goals and doesn't get injured, I wouldn't be surprised if he continues because that's who he is. I know he wants to score 1,000 goals and I think he wants to play with his son. "Playing alongside his son, that's probably one of the biggest goals you can pursue after winning everything. That must feel great. You look at these goals. He did set goals - 1,000 goals and playing football with his son. Does he do this and then feel like, 'OK, I've achieved all my goals now'?
"I don't know what else you can do after that. He's a great man and a great player. What he's done for football is unbelievable."
