In the past few weeks, the University of Arkansas was originally favored to acquire him, but Oladotun ultimately chose to stay in his hometown of Maryland to play, and also rejected Georgetown and the University of Kentucky. He became the University of Maryland's first five-star high school student since Derik Queen in the class of 2024.
