2025 National Indoor Skydiving Championships: Cute baby "Peter" blooms with vitality

11:30am, 3 August 2025Football

At the 2025 National Indoor Skydiving (Wind Tunnel) Championship, a group of cute kids aged 6 to 8 were participating in the basic flight competition in the Jihuayuan Wind Tunnel, which attracted the audience to hold their mobile phones high, flashing together, and laughing continuously. The audience said while filming, "This little baby has all flew into the sky. It's so painful to see this little look." The referee looked at them and smiled. This game was full of childlike fun.

Among the many cute kids participating in the competition, Meng Xinjiang, the youngest 6-year-old player, has attracted much attention. His nickname is Xinbao, and he is from Changping District, Beijing. He is about to enter the first grade in September. Xinbao represented the Beijing Aviation Association team to participate in the competition. This is his first time participating in the National Highest Level Indoor Skydiving (Wind Tunnel) Championship.

Xinbao's fate with indoor skydiving (wind tunnel) is inseparable from the strong atmosphere of the family. His mother Han Qiuli is the world's designated skydiving champion, and his father is the head coach of the skydiving club. He is known as the "second generation of jumping".

Xinbao often says, "Mom is very awesome because there are many trophys and medals for mothers to jump skydiving at home." According to Han Qiuli, equipment and decorations of skydiving elements can be seen everywhere at home, which makes children full of curiosity and interest in airplanes, aviation sports and other fields since childhood. "In July last year, he first came into contact with a wind tunnel. Although he was young and had limited ability to accept, he was not in conflict. Instead, he gradually fell in love with this sport."

He was full of love for the basic flight competition he participated in (the "touch point competition" he mentioned). "The basic flight event is very fun because he can practice math while touching points. In the wind tunnel, he will be blown upwards by the wind. Fortunately, I mastered the tips of falling." After getting in touch with indoor parachuting, Xinbao felt that his flexibility was exercised and his physical fitness improved. "Now I have learned to hold hands while flying, and I want to learn more flying skills next."

He has a big dream at a young age. "In the future, I still want to skydiving with my mother when I grow up, participate in airplane parachuting competitions, and be an astronaut..."

8-year-old Chen Xiluo is a young player of the Chongqing team. She has started learning indoor parachuting (wind tunnel) since she was 7 years old. She has participated in three competitions and won the first place in the Beijing indoor parachuting (wind tunnel) basic flight competition. "This time I participated in the competition on behalf of the Chongqing team because my mother is from Chongqing. This sport makes me more confident and my dream is to become a pilot," said Chen Xiluo.

"The level of domestic players is improving every year, and the competition is getting more and more intense and interesting." Chongqing team captain Zhao Long has been involved in this sport for nine years. He said, "Indoor skydiving is a full-body sport that can exercise the body's flexibility, coordination, balance, explosiveness and other abilities, enhance physical fitness, and bring unique sports fun."

"Youths are the main force of the future." Zhao Long feels that the development of the project depends more on teenagers, and they will inherit the persistence of their predecessors. In addition, it helps to select outstanding talents from them to participate in the World Championships and World Cups, allowing them to compete on a higher stage.

"The biggest advantage of indoor skydiving compared to aircraft skydiving is the fixedness of the space, the compatibility of age and the deep experience. The indoor skydiving project is based on wind tunnels and can provide participants and viewers with a deep skydiving experience and a close-up viewing environment, which greatly breaks through the shortcomings of aircraft skydiving, and indoor skydiving is very safe." The organizer of the event, the Aviation Radio Model Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, and the China Aviation Sports Association. The person in charge said, "The association has always set up interesting and competitive competition subjects for children in top national events. I hope to see more of the "Little Pan" participate in indoor skydiving (wind tunnel) sports." On the stadium, these cute kids interpret their love for indoor skydiving (wind tunnel) with their tender figures. Every flight of their carries dreams and hopes, and also allows us to see the future of the sport's vigorous development among young people.
