In the last game before the finals of this season, after the Pacers' home game against the Knicks, the NBA's commentary group TNT began to pack up everything and prepare to leave the field, and the audience at the scene waved to them reluctantly. O'Neal, wearing a pink suit, even greeted the fans with tears in his eyes.

It is reported that due to the failure of previous copyright renewal negotiations, this season's Eastern Conference Finals is TNT's last NBA copyright event. Starting next season, the NBA broadcast copyright will be jointly owned by ESPN, NBC and Amazon. TNT will no longer broadcast NBA events. It is reported that the main reason for their failure to renew their contract is that Warner Bros.'s offer failed to match Amazon's plan.

TNT has been participating in the NBA pre-game broadcast for 36 seasons. They have had the right to broadcast NBA games since 1989. During this period, both sides have experienced 6 contract renewals. The most recent copyright cycle is worth US$10.8 billion in 9 years. According to statistics, the NBA is TNT's longest broadcast regular program and sports event. They have exclusive broadcast rights for many important NBA events such as the NBA opener, All-Star Game, mid-season championship and key playoff games.

Because the commentary group has O'Neal, Barkley, and two senior hosts, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, many fans of the media have also questioned the league's contract renewal. The reason is that ESPN's love for advertising and the cutting of the game screen is far less attractive than TNT.

Although the commentary group has been disbanded, TNT's subsequent program "NBA Insider" will still be broadcast on RSPN's platform, but many American media are not optimistic about the broadcast effect. Famous reporter Bill Simmons also expressed his views on ESPN's takeover of the TNT program "NBA Insider" in a podcast. He believes ESPN will eventually mess up the show.

However, one surprising news is that the God of Basketball, Jordan will re-enter the attention of fans. According to NBC, they have signed with Jordan with an annual salary of 40 million yuan. Jordan will appear in the fans' vision as a special contributor of NBC. NBC has signed with the league this season, and they have obtained the broadcast rights for the next NBA events.
