Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors: The Lakers career of forward general Hachimura may be about to end

As we all know, the Los Angeles Lakers need to undergo a large-scale upgrade under Luca Doncic, LeBron James and Austin Reeves to compete for the championship next season. One of their key needs is to add a reliable presence to the center position. Judging from the current lineup, there is no traditional big man in the Lakers lineup.
Although the problem was found, it is not that simple to find a solution. The Lakers have a first-round pick that can be traded and swapped multiple times in 2031, which may not be worth much. In their lack of resources, the Purple Gold could be forced to trade Hachimura, who will enter the final year of his $51 million contract next season.
Hachimura Shira was their best trading asset, and he played one of his most efficient seasons in the NBA. He averaged 13.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, shooting 50.9%, of which 41.3% shots were the career-high 4.2 three-pointers. As an all-round player, Hachimura has also made great progress on the defensive end, and he scored a lot of small balls and five points.
On Thursday's "Bukha District" show, Lakers insider Yowan Buha hinted why trading Hachimura Shira could become the target of Rob Pelinka and others when an upgrade is needed. Buha said this:
"If they are going to introduce a center, then you look at the fifth position in the starting group. I don't think Rui (Hamura Shizuo) is the best fifth person." I think on the offensive end, he can rely on his fixed-point shooting, close-range offensive ability, and cutting-in ability, which is very suitable. He turned himself into a 40%+ three-point shooter.
"But on the defensive end, you either need a tall defensive winger, or a tall defensive back, or maybe someone who can defend both No. 1 and No. 3, no matter who is the best outside scorer on the opponent."
Buha points out that Rui Hachimura's defensive role overlaps with Luka Doncic, LeBron James and Dorian Finney-Smith as a player in defensive big striker. While Hachimura Shira is better than Finney Smith, his soon-to-expired contract and age make him a more valuable asset to get immediate and high-quality help.
This can be either a center or an outside defender who can become an offensive point and defensive interceptor. Hachimura's salary next year is $18.3 million, and this contract can basically help the Lakers get a center for a similar price or a slightly more expensive price.
Lakers' Rui Hachimura Shigeru may be the key to trading Brooklyn Nets center Nick Clarkston
One of the famous players associated with the Los Angeles Lakers is Brooklyn Nets center Nick Clarkston
. His contract expires three years and is not at the same time as Brooklyn's roster, making him one of the most likely candidates to switch teams this offseason. The Lakers and Brooklyn have established a good relationship after the Finney-Smith trade last December. This alone doesn't help the Lakers get Clarkston easily, so potential trades, including Hachimura Shiraki, may be helpful.
Hachimura Shirato's upcoming contract is of great significance to a team like the Nets that are being rebuilt. With Clarkston's contract expiration, it might be ideal for Brooklyn to swap players like Hachimura Shirato with Los Angeles, which is easier to trade before the deadline. The $18.3 million contract for Hachimura was only $7.1 million less than Clarkston's $25.4 million. Salary matching is not that complicated. The Lakers will have to add more players to the trade to reach a deal.
