ESPN reporters Brian Windhorst and Tim Bontemps jointly reported that the Cavaliers hope to re-sign Tai Jerome with a contract with a middle-class special case of less than $14.1 million.
sources revealed that Jerome has a contract with the Cavaliers for $2.5 million this season, and he will become a free agent after the season is over and he is expected to receive a considerable salary increase. The league generally believes that signing Jerome basically requires a full middle-class special case worth $14.1 million.
But the Cavaliers hope that Jerome can return with a lower contract. Sources revealed that the Cavaliers are currently dealing with avoiding their total salary exceeding the second rich line next season.
This season's regular season, Jerome played 70 games, averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 19.9 minutes, and his three-point shooting percentage reached 43.9%.
In the playoffs, Jerome averaged 21.2 minutes per game in 9 games, scoring 11.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists, and a three-point shooting percentage of 38.9%.
