Frustrated! Trae Young’s 200 million contract was ruined! The Rockets’ fastest stud trade

Meiji Mathur: Trae Young was particularly frustrated that the Hawks did not provide a full maximum salary offer during early contract extension negotiations.

According to the rules, Trae Young is now eligible to sign a four-year early contract extension with a total value of up to US$229 million. If he is selected for the best team in the new season, he will be eligible to sign a five-year super maximum salary of US$350 million next summer.

Trae Young was born on September 19, 1998. He is a 1.85-meter-tall combo guard and the No. 5 pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA draft. His personal statistics have been quite outstanding since entering the NBA. In his second year, he averaged 29.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. In his third year, he led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals. He is already a famous NBA All-Star player.

In the past three seasons, Trae Young has averaged 26+11 double-doubles per game, and his personal data is still quite impressive. However, his team performance has plummeted, and the Hawks have failed to reach the playoffs for two consecutive seasons. Because of their poor record in recent years, the Hawks management has been shaken by Trae Young's ability to lead the team and no longer has the absolute confidence it had in the past. Naturally, it will not easily provide him with a full maximum salary contract.

Since Trae Young has been unable to reach an early contract extension with the Hawks and there are signs of a breakup, his name has begun to appear in trade rumors. Indeed, many teams are extremely interested in acquiring the assist leader in the 24-25 season.

Not long ago, the US media "BR" talked about the Rockets' trading options for the new season, saying that Trae Young is their ambitious goal. This guy and the Big Four lineup of Durant + Amen + Shen Jing are incredible in the Wild West.

Trae Young's current contract expires in the summer of 2027, and his salary in the next two seasons will be US$46 million and US$48.97 million respectively. If the Rockets are determined to pursue him, there is a high probability that VanVleet (a two-year contract extension of US$50 million this year) and Sheppard, the 24th overall pick, will be the core chips.

As for Trae Young's defensive issues that everyone is worried about, Amen, who was selected to the best defensive team in his second year, is enough to protect him.

Big heart, not soft at critical moments, rich in offensive methods, especially good at three-point shooting.

The passing organization ability to revitalize the team is getting better year by year.

In short, Trae Young is still very good. The person who can conquer Madison Square Garden and is called the "Mayor of New York" is definitely not a vegetarian.
