Analysis: Why 0-2 behind the Knicks in the series is not the end of the world for the Celtics

The sky in Boston seemed to be falling after losing Game 2 against the Knicks, but the Celtics have experienced this before.
The Boston Celtics suffered a huge lead in the first two games of the series, but ended up trailing the New York Knicks 0-2. While the defending champions still have a chance to reverse, they must win four of the next five games, three of which will be played at Madison Square Garden Stadium.
The Celtics lost the first two games of the series at home, and that's before you figure out why they lost. However, the Boston Celtics have encountered such a situation before, even with such a strong core player.
This is the fifth time the Celtics have lost the first two games of the playoff series in Boston in 77 possible scenarios (excluding the rematch park). The Celtics won one of the series, which was in 2017 against the Chicago Bulls, where they scored four straight wins.
The last series that meets this criteria, Celtic fans will definitely not want to recall it. As early as the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics lost the first two games against the No. 8 seed Miami Heat, and then lost the third away game. The Boston Celtics then won three games in a row, dragging the game into Game 7, but the Heat won another game in Boston and eventually advanced to the NBA Finals.
Celtic fans hope this series will be as exciting as the 2017 round, and it must be if they want to reverse and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Incredibly, despite the first two games being played at home, both the Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers were 0-2 behind. So if the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference want to reverse and advance to the NBA Finals, they still have a long way to go. Both teams have this strength, but they still need to put in a lot of effort to close the gap.
