Who has the best roster of former teammates in their career? (Moses Malone)

3:36pm, 20 October 2025Football

Moses Malone was born on March 23, 1955 in Petersburg, Virginia, USA. He plays the position of center and is nicknamed "The Prophet". In 1974, Malone graduated from high school and joined the ABA. In 1976, after the two major leagues merged, he became the first high school student player in NBA history. In his career, he has played for 7 teams: the Braves, Rockets, 76ers, Bullets, Hawks, Bucks, and Spurs. In his NBA career, he was selected to the All-Star 12 times, to the All-NBA Team 8 times (First Team x 4, Second Team x 4), to the All-Defensive Team 2 times (First Defense x 1, Second Defense x 1), won the regular season MVP 3 times, and won the regular season rebounding title 6 times!

Malone scored a total of 27,409 points in his NBA career, ranking 12th on the all-time scoring list, with 16,212 rebounds, 5th on the all-time rebounding list, and 1,733 blocks, ranking 29th on the all-time blocks list. Although Moses has been nicknamed the "strongest mercenary" because of his salary and benefits, he has changed jobs many times, but the height of his career cannot be denied with just a few words of slander! The scene of his complete defeat of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the finals is long ago but will not be forgotten.

Without further ado, you and I can’t tell you what the level of Moses’ former teammates is! What is right and what is wrong, we let the data speak for itself!

So this issue of the Three Fats will continue this new series - taking stock of who has the best former teammates in their career? (PS: Former teammates naturally do not include current teammates, so as to avoid the flooding of the comment area, they are marked in bold!!!)

Starting lineup:

Point guard: Alvin Robertson

Team of the duo: Milwaukee Bucks

Duration of partnership: 2 seasons (91-92, 92-93)

Data during the partnership: 11.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.5 steals, 0.3 blocks

Peak season statistics: 19.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 3.0 steals, 0.8 blocks (87-88 season, Spurs)

Career honors: 1 DPOY, 1 MI P, 1st second team, 2nd first defense, 4th second defense, 3rd steal king, 4th All-Star

Three fat comments: Although he has a reputation as one of the strongest defensive guards, it has to be said that Robertson should be the worst player in this lineup! After all, he is the only one who has not yet been elected to the Hall of Fame... This guard who has won DPOY has already shown his strength to the world. You can imagine what kind of monsters the players in Moses Malone's former teammates are...

Shooting guard: Rick ·Barry

Team partner: Houston Rockets

Duration of partnership: 2 seasons (78-79, 79-80)

Data during partnership: 12.8 points, 3.4 baskets rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.4 blocks

Peak season statistics: 35.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists (66-67 season, Warriors)

Career honors: 1 championship, 1 FM VP, 1-time AMVP, 5-time First Team, 1-time Second Team, 1-time Stealing Champion, 8-time All-Star

Brief comment on Three Fats: As a strong man who conquered two major leagues, Barry has successively completed championships in the ABA and NBA and can be said to be a single-core championship feat! This scoring master could average a terrifying 36 points per game during his peak period. This alone was enough to scare all defenders... It's a pity that his peak period as a partner with Malone has passed, otherwise the combination of these two is enough to make all enemies drink a pot!

Small forward: Julius Erving

Partner team: Philadelphia 76ers

Duo partnership time: 4 seasons (82-83, 83 -84, 84-85, 85-86)

Data during partnership period: 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.5 blocks

Peak season data: 26.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 2.2 steals, 1.8 blocks (79-80 season, 76 people)

Career honors: 1st championship, 1st MVP, 2nd AMVP, 5th first team, 2nd second team, 11th All-Star

Three Fat Brief Comments: How many consecutive times have I introduced Dr. J to you as a super giant? I believe all Yun fans know something about Irving, right? This superstar who dominated the ABA league has never missed an All-Star game in his 11-year NBA career! Even just one championship and one MVP trophy are enough to prove Dr. J's greatness!

Power Forward: Charles Barkley

Double Partner Team: Philadelphia 76ers

Duo Partner Duration: 2 seasons (84-85, 85 -86)

Data during partnership period: 17.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.3 blocks

Peak season statistics: 28.3 points, 11.9 baskets Rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.3 blocks (87-88 season, 76 people)

Career honors: 1 MVP, 1 AMVP, 5 first team, 5 second team, 1 third team 1-time rebounding champion, 11-time All-Star

Brief comment on Three Fats: I still want to lament that Flying Pig was born in the wrong era... As long as Barkley was born two years earlier or two years later, he would have a great chance of winning the coveted O'Brien Cup..

Small forward: Bobby Jones

Partner team: Philadelphia 76ers

Duo partnership time: 4 seasons (82-83, 83-84, 84-85, 85-86)

Data during partnership period: 7.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.1 steals, 1.0 blocks

Peak game Season statistics: 15.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.3 steals, 2.0 blocks (76-77 season, Nuggets)

Career honors: 1 championship, 1 SMOY, 8 first defense, 1 second defense, 4 All-Stars

Three Fats' brief comments: Similar to Dantley's situation, Jones also met everyone in the three fat's best former teammates for many consecutive episodes. I always introduce it. Not only are you tired of watching it, but even Big Three himself is tired of it... I still hope that interested viewers can look through the previous episodes of the program. You can find San Fat's introduction to Jones at any time.

So the above is the best lineup of former teammates that Moses Malone has played with in his career. What do you think about this?
