In an interview on November 25, former Manchester United defender Evra said that as a player, he took up to 38 painkillers a day.
Evra said this: "At that time, I was taking 38 pills a day. I may have played more than 700 professional games. When people ask me how many games I felt I was 100% healthy, I would probably say 5 games."
"In my time, I've been taking painkillers my whole career - it's part of the job. At that level, sometimes you have no choice but to keep playing."
"And what's the easiest solution?"
