November 16: After defeating Georgia 4-0 in the World Cup preliminaries, Spanish national team coach De La Fuente said that Huizen was slightly unwell.

About World Cup qualification

- Out of respect for our opponents and other national teams, we must wait. Our attitude is to keep our feet on the ground until our goals are achieved.

On being unbeaten in 30 consecutive non-friendly games

– that’s another reason to be proud of, the players I’ve had the privilege to coach. There is still a long way to go, more achievements, more milestones... They are all young and improving players.

About the team's injuries

- These injuries have given other talented young men opportunities they might not have had otherwise. This is a success for the club and we are enjoying it. There is a lot of hard work behind the scenes by the clubs, players and the federation.

About Huizen

- He has some minor discomfort and our priority is to look after the players. Tests have been carried out and doctors are in contact with Real Madrid's medical team. We will assess whether he can play in Sevilla.

About playing against Türkiye in Seville

- I wanted the stadium to be special and create a typical Sevilla atmosphere. These players deserve this and so does World Cup qualifying. Sevilla never disappoints.

Later at the press conference, De La Fuente once again talked about some of the team's current situation.

Is this game easier than expected?

- Georgia is not weak, but they came up against a very good and ambitious Spanish team. This is not their fault, but the credit of our players. Senghor has a good team and a good foundation and they will continue to grow. This is a job that requires continuous effort.

Spain broke the record of Del Bosque's era. What did the team do best?

- I am admired and proud to have an exceptional team that has gone 30 games without a defeat and surpassed the record set by unforgettable players between 2008 and 2012. Our goal is to get better every day with an eye on the World Cup.

Do you think you have qualified for the World Cup?

- Out of respect for our opponents, we must finish the game in Sevilla until promotion is mathematically certain, and we will continue to do so. We are very happy, happy for the players who are here and the players who were not able to play due to injury but helped us. I enjoy working with this team of great people who are also some of the best players in the world. In addition, Spain has an endless talent pool.

Is the challenge to keep a clean sheet?

- Keeping clean sheets is very difficult, especially when averaging four goals per game. I'm so proud of these players and it's been a pleasure working with them. We know the players well enough to know which ones can fit into this concept. Some players are very good playing in another way, but there are many players in Spain who understand this philosophy and that is our advantage. It would sound great if I said these concepts were what I learned at Harvard, but it’s really simple: the players are good.

What is the situation with Huizen? Will he leave training camp?

- No one is leaving the camp at this time. Huizen is happy to be here and doesn't want to leave. We will assess tomorrow based on medical advice, but the first priority is the health of the players. He'll be able to play on Tuesday, but we'll see what happens tomorrow.
