Arteta sends a positive signal: four wounded people can play against Manchester United, Trosad needs further evaluation!

Leandro Trosad left the game due to injury in a friendly match against Tottenham Hotspur and joined Arsenal's injury list.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta said he is confident that he will welcome four injured players before the Premier League opening game against Manchester United later this month.

The Gunners were allowed to play in a limited lineup in the most recent pre-season friendly match (1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur), and the team's health problems worsened when winger Leandro Trosad limped away in the 17th minute only.

The players who missed the game included Gabriel Magalians, Ricardo Calafiori and Yurien Timber, all with injuries at the end of last season, but Arteta thought they would be able to return soon.

"I think (they will not miss the game against Manchester United), they have participated in training in the past few days, so Gabriel, Calafiori, Timber, all three of them will be able to play." Arteta told the media.

New aid Kepa also missed the game due to injury, but Arteta insisted that his absence from a friendly against Tottenham was only due to precautions.

"He felt a little uncomfortable against Newcastle United," the Gunners coach explained, "I think it might only take a few days (to recover). He could have played, but we decided not to take that risk."

The only new concern is Trosad, who has been arranged to have a scan to determine the severity of the injury.

"He felt a little strained, and I think he was pushed when he tried to turn around and then felt something was wrong with his muscles, so we had to evaluate him." Arteta said at the end.

Arsenal has two friendly matches against Spanish teams before the opening of the Premier League in 2025-26, with rivals Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao. Arsenal's Premier League debut will challenge Manchester United away on August 17.
