The Chinese Basketball Association issued new anti-doping penalties, with two lifetime bans, and the team is at risk of suspension

Today, the Chinese Basketball Association announced the articles on the participation guidelines of the basketball team, which set the latest standards for the punishment for the positive stimulant test result.

The original text is: If a basketball player tests positive for the second doping test, he will be given a lifelong suspension. If a team or club has more than three athletes (including three) of the athletes within three years, if the stimulant test result is positive, the team or club will be disqualified from participating in the competition, and will be suspended for one to three years. All results that have participated in this competition will be lost at 0:20, and all previous awards will be recovered.

The player was suspended for life only after two violations. The penalty felt quite loose. The two players announced by the China Anti-Doping Testing Center this year are Gillenwater of Guangdong Men's Basketball Team and Harrell of Xinjiang Men's Basketball Team. In other words, according to the new rules of the Basketball Association, the two are still qualified to play as foreign players in the CBA League, but the reality is that the two basically cannot find jobs in China.

According to media reports, Gillenwater planned to join the Chinese NBL League to play short-term work, but after the Anti-Doping Center announced the list, Gillenwater was rejected by the NBL League team. After Harrell left the CBA League, he joined the Adelaide 36ers in the Australian NBL League. He was also sacked after the Anti-Doping Center announced the list. The team also issued a statement saying that he was ruling him because of violations. Recently, Gillenwater joined the Fubon Warriors in Taiwan Province, and Harrell has not found a new job.

The new regulations are issued this time, and the team's responsibilities are also clarified. If three people test positive within three years, they will be disqualified and suspended for 1-3 years. All games in the season will be lost and all awards will be recovered.

I feel that the penalty standard for the team is very reasonable. Since you are the player you sign, you should bear the management responsibility. That is, the time for suspension after three people violate the rules within three years should be determined. I hate the vague standard of 1-3 years. It is good to directly set an accurate number for three years. It is considered the time for rectification. If you are willing to reflect on continuing to participate, you should wait for the suspension time to end. If you can't wait, you will sell the qualification to others.

In short, we should be more ruthless in this kind of violation, and we should cooperate with the public security department to pursue corresponding criminal liability, and uproot a series of people involved in the purchase and sale of illegal items. Public security will always be more prioritized than basketball games. I hope that similar situations will not occur again in the future.
