Kevin Durant hits back fans, saying he ruined the Cavaliers dynasty in 2017

Kevin Durant never shy away from the hustle and bustle on social media, and this time he once again ruthlessly responded to a fan accusing him of undermining Cleveland Ben's possible dynasty. An X (formerly Twitter) user wrote:

"Oh my god @KDTrey5, fuck you brother, you ruined the dynasty that Cleveland could have built."

Durant did not hesitate as always. His reply was short and sharp, with the vicious tone that only the MVP of the Finals could be issued by two finals: "I am glad every morning that this happened."

The background behind this conversation is deeply rooted in the legend of the NBA. In the 2016 NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers historic reversed the 73-win Golden State Warriors 3-1. The trio of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love seems ready to dominate the East and defend the title.

No team in the Eastern Conference has the firepower and experience that matches their strength. With the exposure of the Warriors, the Cleveland Cavaliers became a favorite to defend the champion in the 2016-17 season.

However, huge changes followed: Kevin Durant joined the Warriors as a free agent in July 2016. In a blink of an eye, the balance of power tilted back towards the Bay Area. The already strong Golden State Warriors have become almost invincible with the joining of Durant and the joining of core players such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. The arrival of Durant ended the Cavaliers' hope of establishing a dynasty. From 2017 to 2018, the Warriors played against the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals for two consecutive years and won twice with a landslide. Durant also won the MVP of the Finals twice.

In the 2017 NBA Finals, Durant averaged 35.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game, shooting as high as 55.6% from the field and 47.4% from three-point shooting percentage.

In the third game, he made an iconic three-pointer against LeBron James, almost locked in the series and completely changed people's evaluation of Durant's legend at a critical moment. The Warriors won the series in five games, and Durant's dominance is beyond doubt.

In the 2018 Finals, Durant once again showed extraordinary strength, averaging 28.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game, shooting percentage as high as 52.6%, and three-point shooting percentage as high as 40.9%.

He broke out in the third game, scoring 43 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists, which was a historical masterpiece, completely shattering the hopes of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors eventually swept their opponents 4-0, cementing their status as one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history.

Although fans in Cleveland and the entire league are still dissatisfied with Durant's decision, his response clearly shows that he does not regret it. The transfer to the Golden State Warriors brought him the coveted success, and he would not apologize for defeating his opponent.

Durant's answer may sting Cavaliers fans, but it reflects a cruel fact: he not only joined the Warriors, he also became the engine to end his dream of a Cleveland championship. As KD said, he wakes up every morning to understand this.
