August 16th CCTV's "Basketball Park" program recently aired an exclusive interview with Harden. During the interview, Harden talked about multiple topics (the interview was conducted during his trip to China at the beginning of the month of Beard).
Q: The Clippers have you, Paul, Leonard, and Bill in the new season. Can such a lineup make us have greater expectations for the new season?
A: We are a better team, we are an excellent, more mature and more experienced team, which can help us a lot in the playoffs. The outside world has a lot of expectations for us, and this expectation is high and low. For us, we just need to work hard every day, take action, and then accept the results calmly.
Q: But on the other hand, the average age of this Clippers is 33.2 years old, and it is one of the oldest teams in NBA history. Do you think this will have an impact on the team's journey to the championship?
A: There will be no impact, it will be helpful to us. We have experience and the lineup is deep enough. There are players who can compete at every position, which is exactly what is necessary to win the championship. Look at the teams that have won the championship recently, they have 8 to 10 players who can play at any time. Age is indeed a factor, but it is not decisive, because we have more experience and tactical understanding, so the key for us is to stay in shape, and we can contribute more than 10 players on the court, or even more. This requires finding a balance point. I am looking forward to the arrival of training camp and see what progress will be ahead.
