Bulls start center: The general manager told me personally that all rumors about me are fake

Chicago Bulls' inside veteran Nikola Vucevic is currently preparing for the upcoming European Cup with the Montenegro Men's Basketball Team. In a recent interview with the media, Vucevic also refuted rumors that he would be bought out by the Bulls and would leave the team.

Vucevic said: It was about a week ago that Bulls general manager Arturas Karnisovas confirmed to me that none of the rumors about me were true. Actually, I knew that myself, but when the general manager of your team calls to tell you about it personally, it is always a happy thing. Vucevic continued: According to my experience and observation, there are always all kinds of rumors outside. In fact, most rumors are fake. They just have to do this for the sake of traffic. This is more or less nonsense, but I know very clearly how the industry works, so I can understand such behavior. I have the last year left in my contract, and in this case there will always be some speculation about this. Because I can’t control the spread of rumors, all I can do is try not to get anxious because of it.

In the NBA regular season last season, Vucevic played 73 games in 82 games, averaging 31.2 minutes per game, averaging 18.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks, and 1.6 turnovers and 2.2 fouls. He shot 53% from the field, 40.2% from three-point shooting percentage and 80.5% from free throws. In the first round of the playoffs, the team lost to the Miami Heat, Vucevic played 38 minutes and 05 seconds in the game, made 6 of 13 shots, 2 of 5 from outside the three-point line, and 2 of 2 free throws, scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks, and 2 turnovers and 3 fouls.

Vucevic's performance last season was actually not ideal. Although the data looks pretty good, and although it seems that he can provide comprehensive support to the team on the offensive end, from the actual situation, his influence on the game on the court is actually seriously insufficient. His role on the defensive end is seriously insufficient, and there are obvious problems in his defensive ability and defensive focus. Coupled with the increase in age, his disadvantages in moving speed are even more obvious. According to previous news, the Bulls do not want to buy out Vucevic this summer, and they still hope to find a way to trade Vucevic out. Next season is Vucevic's contract year, and his salary next season is $21.48 million. Given Vucevic's ability and salary, it is not easy to send him away, and I don't know how the Bulls will operate next.
