The Knicks sign a former Heat second-team backcourt star, and he probably still has to stay in the NBA Development League?

New York Knicks officially announced that the team has signed Bryson Warren, a former free agent backcourt player, with a training camp contract containing Exhibit 10, and he also has the opportunity to stay in the team through training camp and preseason.

Warren was born in October 2004 and is not yet 21 years old. He is 191cm tall and weighs 84kg. He was the undraft in the NBA draft last year. Warren has played for Sioux Fox, a subsidiary of the Heat's NBA Development League team for the past two seasons. In the NBA Development League last season, Warren made a total of 49 appearances, averaging 23.3 minutes per game, averaging 11 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers and 1.5 fouls. He shot 41.4%, three-point shooting percentage 37.3%, and free throw shooting percentage 77.4%. Compared with the 2023-24 season, Warren's performance in the NBA Development League has improved to a certain extent. He can also show certain scoring and shooting skills on the offensive end. It seems that he also has some passing and organizational abilities. However, overall, Warren's performance cannot be considered a particularly outstanding level, and the gap with an excellent player is also quite obvious.

Warren previously represented the Heat in the NBA Summer League again. He played 2 games in the summer league, averaging 21.2 minutes per game, averaging 10.5 points, 2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals, 2.5 turnovers and 0.5 fouls, shooting percentage of 46.2%, three-point shooting percentage of 50%, and free throw shooting percentage of 83.3%. In the two summer league games, Warren's performance can be said to be very different. He had almost no performance in the steals and defeated the San Antonio Spurs. In the team's loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Warren defeated all sides and showed his ability on both offense and defense, proving that he still has the power to fight.

Judging from Warren's resume and previous performance, it is not easy for him to win the opportunity to stay in the team in the fierce competition. According to previous news, the Knicks' NBA Development League team Westchester Knicks has obtained Warren's NBA Development League ownership from Sioux Fox in a three-party transaction. If nothing unexpected happens, Warren will join the Westchester Knicks after the start of the new season and continue to appear in the NBA Development League. According to the latest CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) rules, if Warren is cut next, joins the Westchester Knicks after the start of the NBA regular season in the new season and stays in the Westchester Knicks for 60 days, he will be able to get up to $85,300 from the Raptors.
