October 3: Weidenfeller recently interviewed Desky and talked about joining Liverpool's Wilts from Leverkusen for a transfer fee of 125 million euros this summer.
Weidenfeller said: "He chose a more difficult path. If he joined Bayern, it would be easier for him. He is familiar with the environment there and is well protected. At Liverpool, he entered a brand new environment. He performed well and was willing to work hard, but maybe he still lacked the strength and skills to seize the critical moment like we saw at Leverkusen."
After joining Liverpool, Wilz played for Liverpool in 9 games and has not yet won the first goal, only an assist in the Community Shield.
