Official: Australian legend Kowell coaches Vietnamese team Hanoi FC

October 4th, Vietnamese team Hanoi FC officially announced today that former Australian international Cowell will serve as the team's new coach.

Hanoi FC announcement read: "Former Australian star Harry Cowell, who played for Liverpool, was officially appointed as the head coach of Hanoi Football Club. He has rich career and coaching experience in Europe. I hope that his arrival will bring new atmosphere to Hanoi Football Club, enhance the team's competitiveness in the domestic league and Asian arena, and open a new chapter of Hanoi FC."

Kowell was born in 197 In September 8, he played for Leeds United, Liverpool, Galatasaray, Melbourne Victory, Galafa, Melbourne City and other teams. After retiring in the 2013/14 season, he started his coaching career. He served as an assistant coach for Postkoglu and helped the Celtics win the "three consecutive championships" in the 22/23 Scottish domestic competition. He started coaching the J League team Yokohama Mariners in January 2024, but was fired in July of the same year for poor performance.
