Reeves will not renew his contract with the Lakers in advance, pursue a new contract with a starting salary of 30 million, or the next little black

On May 29, Lakers reporter Jovan Buha talked about the contract renewal negotiations between the Lakers and Reeves on the show. Buha said it's almost certain that Reeves jumped out of the contract next summer, testing the free market and pursuing higher annual salary. Subsequently, reporter Eric Pincus followed up and said that Reeves would indeed jump out of the contract and seek a contract with a starting salary of $30 million. For the Lakers, who are still trying to strengthen the inside, it seems very difficult to give Reeves a contract of 30 million.

Buha added: "Reeves' contract is actually an expiring contract, because the 2026-27 season is the player option, and he almost certainly rejects this option and fights for a bigger contract next summer." Although Reeves is eligible to renew the contract with the Lakers early this summer, the Adonis Lakers can only offer up to four years and around $89 million. The Lakers' offer is far lower than Reeves' expectations for his market value, so he will hardly renew his contract with the Lakers in advance.

represents the Lakers in 73 regular season games this season, averaging 20.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game, shooting percentage of 46% and three-point shooting percentage of 37.7%, making it the third scoring point of the Lakers. However, Reeves declined significantly in the playoffs, averaging 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, shooting percentage of 41.1% and three-point shooting percentage of 31.9%. In addition, Reeves was targeted in the playoff defense, and the Lakers did not dare to give too much contract. Reeves' departure was almost a foregone conclusion.

The Lakers cannot give a large contract that meets Reeves' expectations for both the team's salary space considerations or the signing considerations. So Reeves will jump out of the contract and test the free market, but it is very likely that he will become the next little black Schrowder. After all, he is indeed very suitable for the Lakers at the moment, and it may be different if he changes the environment.
