NBA Trading Rumor: NBA Insider Reveals Antetokounmpo s Amazing Way to Join the Golden State Warriors

3:31pm, 19 May 2025Basketball

Milwaukee Bucks star Antetokounmpo once again linked to Stephen Curry's Golden State Warriors.

In the recent "Get UP", people discussed the future of the Warriors. Sports analyst Jay Williams said there is a "world" where Greek stars can ask him to want to go to the Golden State Warriors. NBA insider Brian Windhorst agrees, saying Antetokounmpo and Curry are likely to be teammates in Golden State. "Yes, the Warriors have a plan to use," said Windhorst. "They have some future picks. They have interesting young players. Like last year, Brandon Podzimski is the penalty area. Who knows if this will be the case this year? But they can't win a bidding battle." "If we really get to that point, Giannis will look around and he will have agency. He has two years left on his contract. The Bucks don't have to listen to him. But if he comes to Milwaukee and says, I want to play with Curry, we might have a deal." Windhorst believes that any trade to Antetokounmpo's preferred destination is resolved. However, he said Milwaukee still has the initiative, as the nine-time NBA All-Star player's current contract expires two years.

Antetokounmpo has been associated with the Warriors many times in the past. Rumors have been rife lately due to Curry's age and concerns that the NBA's all-time three-pointers' championship window could close soon. What would the possible deal in Giannis Antetokounmpo look like for Golden State?

If the Golden State Warriors pursue Antetokounmpo in the offseason, they have to trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. Antetokounmpo's annual salary next season is $54.1 million, the first year of his three-year $175.4 million contract. His contract has a player option in the 2027-28 season.

Any deal must include Jimmy Butler or Drummond Green, who earns $25.9 million in the 2025-26 season. Although the Warriors have signed Butler, his contract next season is worth $54.1 million, similar to Antetokounmpo's contract.

Golden State Warriors can add several future draft picks as sweet spots. NBA insider Bobby Max said the Warriors have four tradeable first-round picks in the future and may offer pick swaps over the next seven years.

With ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Monday that the Bucks star is "open" to find the best player for him, fans are waiting for Antetokounmpo's offseason progress.
