June 8 News from reporter Jake Weinbach, league executives believe that the Lakers' acquisition of Doncic from the Mavericks' deal is simply a "pie falling from the sky."
Jake Weinbach said it is worth noting that this league-wide sentiment is expected to make it more challenging for the Lakers to negotiate trades with other teams. If the Lakers negotiate the trade, the team may have to "pay too high a price" (being raised) for some interested players in the market.
In early February this year, the Lakers gave Thick Brows, Max Christie and the 2029 first round pick, and exchanged Doncic, Kleber and Markieff Morris from the Mavericks.
