Jeff Green: I want to play for at least two more years, reach a 20-year career milestone and retire with the Rockets

June 5th, veteran Jeff Green, who is about to become a full free agent, said recently when he participated in the show that his goal is to achieve a milestone in his 20-season NBA career. He also expressed his desire to return to the Rockets and planned to retire here after at least two more seasons.
Jeff Green was selected by the Seattle Supersonics in 2007, and he needs to play for another two years to achieve this goal - strictly speaking, his career has gone through 17 seasons, and he missed the shortened season after undergoing cardiac surgery in 2011-2012.
"I hope to play until I can't play together. 20 seasons are the top goal, and it's still two years away. Houston has been my home in the past few years, and I'm eager to continue this sense of belonging. Whether it's 20 years or 21 years, I hope we can reach an agreement to let me retire here. My wife said she'll retire after 20 years, and I understand that. So, let's play for another two years! " said Jeff Green.
Jeff Green has been in 11 teams in his career, two of which played for the Rockets: he played with the team in the 2020 playoff rematch, and returned to Houston to play in 2023 after helping the Nuggets win the championship. His wandering history set an NBA record--the largest number of teammates in his career.
"So many people want to be teammates with me, and I can't do anything about it." Jeff Green teased.
In the 2023-2024 season, Jeff Green played 78 games for the Rockets, but with Adams returning, he gradually faded out of the rotation lineup this season and made only 32 appearances. In the seven-game series of the Warriors in the playoffs, he only appeared in garbage time and played for a total of 5 minutes.
Despite this, Green is determined to keep training for the new season.
"The basketball career is full of fun, and this journey is long but lovely. I am still full of passion, enjoying the training process, and I come to record the show as soon as I finish training. I will continue to persevere until I can't play. After all, time to be able to engage in a loving career is fleeting." Jeff Green said.
