Is Wenban DPOY’s biggest opponent his teammates? Castle’s defensive efficiency: Doncic and other stars faced him 9-for-43

On November 10, the new NBA regular season will continue. In the competition for the DPOY award this season, Bunyama is far ahead. However, there is one person on the team who also performs exceptionally well on the defensive end. He is Castle. The eight superstars only shot 9 of 43 against him!

In yesterday's victory over the Pelicans, Castle played 35 minutes and made 5 of 13 shots, 0 of 6 three-pointers, 4 of 4 free throws, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 14 assists, and only 2 turnovers. According to statistics, Castle has at least 13 assists in two consecutive games (13 assists on the field), becoming the first sophomore to do this since the 1990s. In the past six games, Castle averaged 18.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 2.3 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.

What is even more terrifying is Castle's defense. The US media released a set of Castle's defensive data. When opposing offensive players face Castle's defense, most of their shooting percentages will be lower than their normal shooting percentages.

The details are as follows: Doncic made 2 of 10 shots; Booker made 1 of 6 shots; Poole made 2 of 7 shots; Amen made 1 of 4 shots; Porter Jr. made 2 of 7 shots; Cam Thomas made 1 of 4 shots;

As we all know, Spurs star Bunyama is the number one contender for DPOY this season. But if Castle can maintain such a terrifying defensive efficiency, he might not be able to pose a threat to Vunbanyama.

What do you think of Castle’s performance as a sophomore? Welcome to give your opinions in the comment area.
