Backcourt player: The Lakers need to find a big player of different types from Hayes this summer

Los Angeles Lakers backcourt player Austin Reaves recently visited a Lakers Nation program, and he also talked about the situation in which the team should strengthen the center position during the offseason:

Reaves: I think the Lakers have to look at finding a big player of different type from Jaxson Hayes this summer. This player needs to have an advantage in body shape or strength. Later, when talking about the changes brought by Luka Doncic's big deal to the team, Reeves continued: I think it's difficult for the opponent to keep trying to suppress our offense, because I think we can get good shooting opportunities in every offensive round, and on the defensive end, we must be strictly guarded and kept focused to limit the opponent. After the big deal was completed, our defense has been able to rank in the top five in the league for more than a month, so we have proven that we are capable of doing this. Next, we will continue to improve the team's tactical arrangements on the defensive end next season.

In the NBA regular season this season, Reeves played 73 games in 82 games, averaging 34.9 minutes per game, averaging 20.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks, and 2.4 turnovers and 2.1 fouls, shooting percentage of 46%, three-point shooting percentage of 37.7%, and free throw shooting percentage of 87.7%. During the playoffs, Reeves made a total of 5 appearances, averaging 39.3 minutes per game, with averaging 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.6 blocks. He also had 2.8 turnovers and 3.6 fouls. His shooting percentage was 41.1%, three-point shooting percentage was 31.9%, and his free throw shooting percentage was 85.7%.

In fact, Reeves said it well. The Lakers were eliminated in the first round during the playoffs, and their overall performance lacked basic competitiveness, which is closely related to the team's inside. Hayes' performance during the playoffs was not ideal, and the Lakers even abandoned him directly in the last game of the playoffs. However, after abandoning Hayes, the Lakers' interior completely entered a vacuum state. The team was beaten by the Minnesota Timberwolves' inside in the last game of the series. Even Gobert, who is not good at attacking, can play a double 20 data, which is enough to show how serious the Lakers' problems in the inside position are. The problem is that the Lakers don’t have any bargaining chips in their hands now. It is well known that they want to improve their competitiveness in the inside. If they want to get a high-level insider, maybe Reeves will be sent away by the team?
